Dal Vangelo secondo Matteo (Mt 6,34-44)
In quel tempo Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli:
«Nessuno può servire due padroni, perché o odierà l’uno e amerà l’altro, oppure si affezionerà the one and despise the other. You can not serve God and wealth.
Therefore I say unto you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, nor about your body, what you wear, maybe life is not worth more than food and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air neither sow nor reap, nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Not much better than they are worth? And which of you, as you worry, can extend their lives even a little?
And the dress, why do you bother? Observe how the lilies of the field neither toil nor spin. Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of them. Now, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will do much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat? What shall we drink? What shall we wear? ". Of all these things go in search of the pagans. Your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need.
Instead, try, first, the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
not worry so tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its'.

Jesus invites us to make a choice. He does this often with extreme force. We understand that the kingdom of God is incompatible with the kingdom
money. In that realm we do not sell anything. Life is free, like air, like water (Is 55.1, Rev. 21.6), especially water, without which there is no life. And he who has received free of charge, must give freely (Matthew 10:8).
In this realm, however, everything you buy. Prudence is recommended to be sighted and greedy. We must prepare for the future, since it is uncertain. But the future escapes us. It belongs to God Making the choice of the kingdom of God, choose to serve God ruling out any other master, it also means get back to him for the future: have faith in God, the point of not worrying about the future. It is our wealth, our treasure (Mt 13:44). It is safer for us all the gold in the world. Gold is by having a way to ensure its future. But a place on earth, that in the short term. The future of which we speak is as big as eternity. On this place we have no grip. It matters little. God cares for us. Jesus is in charge of "preparing a place" (Jn 14:2). Our future is in good hands. It is safe. Why so much concern us? This act of faith, that Jesus demands, it is also a lesson in wisdom. Too often, under the pretext of preparing the future, we no longer live. Jesus is a teacher, not indifference, but of peaceful serenity.
