FIRST READING (Is 49,3.5-6) \u200b\u200b
I will give you light to the nations and to carry la mia salvezza.
Dal libro del profeta Isaìa
Il Signore mi ha detto:
«Mio servo tu sei, Israele,
e ricondurre i superstiti d’Israele.
Io ti renderò luce delle nazioni,
perché porti la mia salvezza
fino all’estremità the earth. "
Word of God
RESPONSORIAL Psalm (Psalm 39)
Chorus: Behold, Lord, I come to do your will.
I waited, I waited for the Lord,
and he leaned over me,
he heard my cry.
He put me on the mouth a new song of praise to our God
Sacrifice and offering you do not like, I've
ears open, you have not asked
holocaust or sacrifice for sin.
Then I said, 'Here I am. "
"in the book is written about me
to do your will:
my God, I delight;
your law is within my heart. "
I announced your justice in the great assembly;
see: I do not keep their lips closed,
Lord, you know.
SECOND READING (1 Corinthians 1:1-3)

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us;
to all who received him he gave power to become children of God
Alleluia.
GOSPEL (Jn 1.29-34)
Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
+ Gospel According to John
In that time, John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is he of whom I said, "After me comes a man who is ahead of me because he existed before me." I do not know him, but I came baptizing in water, that he might be manifested to Israel. "
John testified saying, "I contemplated the Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and remain upon him. I do not know him, but just the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me: "He upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descend and remain is he who baptizes in the Spirit Holy. " And I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God. " Word of the Lord
Prayer of the Faithful

2. For preachers, catechists, educators, because they are aware the importance of the task entrusted to them-to be untiring preachers of the Lord. Please.
3. For Christians who are in situations of sin, to rediscover their call to holiness and to engage the consolation and help of the Holy Spirit to seek God's will to live and pray.
4. For those engaged in interreligious dialogue, asking them to identify everything that unites and makes possible the meeting between the men made brothers in Christ. Please.

Comment
This is where our Christian faith is distinguished from any other religion. Jesus on the cross - God in the midst of human suffering: this news is for us an incredible comfort. It's close to my sorrow, he understands me, knows how I feel. This news means a life uncomfortable at the same time: for those who engaged in our world, sinking, sinking into anonymity, who are tortured, being killed, dying of hunger or perish ... They are all your brothers and your sisters !
