our Lord Jesus Christ ...
FIRST READING (Gen 2.7 to 9, 3.1 to 7)
The creation of our first parents and their sin.
the Book of Genesis The Lord God formed man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living being.
Then the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, east, and there he put the man whom he had formed. The Lord God made to grow from the ground every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, the tree of life in the midst of the garden and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
The serpent was more crafty than any wild animals that God had done and said to the woman: "It is true che Dio ha detto: “Non dovete mangiare di alcun albero del giardino”?».
Then he opened the eyes of both of them and knew they were naked; sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons.
Word of God
RESPONSORIAL PSALM (Ps 50)
Chorus: Forgive us, Lord, for we have sinned.
mercy on me, O God, in your love, in your great mercy
clears my iniquity.
Wash me completely from my guilt,
make me pure from my sin.
Yes, I will acknowledge my iniquity,
my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you alone have I sinned,
what is evil in your eyes, I did.
Create in me, O God, a pure heart,
renew a steadfast spirit within me.
did not drive by your presence and take not thy holy spirit.
the joy of your salvation,
uphold me with a generous spirit.
Lord, open my lips
and my mouth shall declare your praise.
SECOND READING (Rom 5.12-19 (short form: Rm 5,12.17-19))
Where sin abounded, grace has overflowed.
from the letter of Paul to the Romans
Brothers, as through one man sin entered the world and through sin, death, so everyone has spread death, because everyone has sin. Until the law in fact
There was sin in the world and, even if the sin is not imputed when there is no law, death reigned from Adam to Moses even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of Adam's transgression, who is a figure of him that was to come.
But the free gift is not like the fall: if the fall of one man all died, much more the grace of God, and the gift by the grace of the one man Jesus Christ, abounded on all . And if the gift is not like in the case of that one who has sinned, it is not more than one opinion, and that is the condemnation, the gift of grace instead of many falls, and that is the justification.
5, 12.17-19
Fratelli, come because of one man sin entered the world and through sin, death, so everyone has spread death, because all sinned.
For if by the fall of one, death reigned because of that one man, much more those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through Jesus Christ alone.
Then as the fall of one man has affected all people the conviction, so also for the work of just one pours upon all men to justification, which gives life. Thus, as one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience di uno solo tutti saranno costituiti giusti.
" But he said: "It is written:" One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. "
Then the devil took him to the holy city and placed it on the highest point of the temple and said: "If you are the Son of God, cast thyself down, for it is written:" For He will command His angels concerning you and they will bring on their hands because your foot against a stone "." Jesus replied, "it is written:" Do not test the Lord thy God. "
Then the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory and said: "All these things will I give thee if, falling at my feet and worship me." Then Jesus said to him: "Go away, Satan! For it is written: "The Lord your God, you'll love: to worship Him alone". "
Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and ministered to him.

Commento
In each of the three attempts at seduction, it is the trust in God is said in Deuteronomy (6, 4): "Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. " Demand means that God is the only one to be loved by Israel, the only one to trust. It also means giving up his power, to "become like God" (Gen 3:5).
three times, Satan tempts Jesus to use its power: its power to work miracles (V. 3), the power of his faith that purports to require God (v. 6), domination of the world submitting to Satan and his government of violence (see 9). Jesus resists because God is in the heart of its existence, because he lives by his word (v. 4), because he has confidence in him so he does not want a threat to his sovereignty or to his freedom (v. 7), because he knows that he is committed exclusively to serve him (v. 10).
