"Jesus said that some people are born homosexual"

Usually the combination of Bible and homosexuality is quite dangerous.

This is true whether you take the letter and consider force in the order given by God to kill homosexuals (males) in Leviticus 20:30:
If one has intercourse with a man as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them.
whether those standards are used to support that claim (Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Declaration. Persona Humana, 8, quoted in the Catechism of the Catholic Church , 2357):
homosexual acts are inherently disordered.

Sometimes, however, some Christians are aware, perhaps unconsciously, the enormity of their positions, and they can find in the gospels supporting evidence for a more humane and humanitarian homosexuals. Kudos to them, in this case American Jesus Metropolitan Community Church, which has put up a site, Would Jesus Discriminate? , "Jesus discriminate?".

These are the arguments presented by those anti-Christian discrimination in favor of homosexuals.

Jesus helped a gay couple

The first track is a miracle of Jesus, narrated in the Gospel according to Matthew , Chapter 8:
5 Entry into Capernaum, a centurion came to him who begged him: 6 "Lord, my servant lies at home paralyzed and terrible suffering. " 7 Jesus replied, "I will come and heal him." 8 The centurion replied, "Sir, I am not worthy that Thou shouldst enter under my roof, 'Just say the word and my servant will be healed. 9 For I am a junior, I have soldiers under me and I say to one, 'Go, and he goes, and to another, Come, and he is, and to my servant, Do' this, and he ago. " 10
heard this, Jesus was astonished and said to those following him, "Truly I tell you, at no one in Israel have I found such faith. 11 Now I tell you that many will come from east and west and sit at table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, 12 while the sons of the kingdom will be cast into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. " 13 And Jesus said to the centurion, 'Go, and be made according to your faith. " At that moment the servant was healed.
Where does the interpretation pro-homosexual? According to the site, the Greek word with which the centurion shows the sick, pais, can mean "son", "servant" o «amante (maschio) del padrone» ( le fonti fornite sono: K.J. Dover, Greek Homosexuality , Harvard University Press, Cambridge, 1978, p. 16; Bernard Sergent, Homosexuality in Greek Myth , Beacon Press, Boston, 1986, p. 10 ).

  1. essersi fatto "Eunuch for the kingdom of heaven, probably interpreted the renunciation of marriage to go to heaven (even though the Church Father Origen interpreted it as an invitation to self-castration invitation accepted);
  2. have been made" by the eunuch men, "probably a reference to the ancient practice of castrating young boys;
  3. be" born eunuch from birth. "
This last point is interpreted by the Jesus Metropolitan Community Church as a reference to homosexuals, so born in the belly of the mother.

And many more references ...

Other positive references to homosexuals would be included in the Old and New Testament: a homosexual was received by the apostles in the Church (Acts of the Apostles , 8:26-40) and one of the most prominent female figures, Ruth loved Naomi as Adam loved Eve ( Ruth 1:14).

tracks that would normally be interpreted as directed against homosexuals, are re-interpreted so as to not be so negative in the case of the denial of the Kingdom of Heaven to men effeminate ( 1 Corinthians 6:9-10), of 'episode of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19), the commandment not to lie with man as one does with a woman ( Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13) and others. What this

Church is doing is worthy of praise: it seeks to convince Christians that homosexual people are neither damned nor "intrinsically disordered." I can not think of how much suffering could be spared to homosexuals if this view was adopted by all Christians, and I mean both the suffering inflicted on homosexuals by Christians, whether of the self-inflicted by Christians to homosexuals themselves.

What I can not fail to note, however, is how it happens: through ad hoc interpretation of the texts used by all Christians, including those that we read a condemnation of homosexuality. The same, identical, word "sacred" are daily read by billions of Christians, we are confirming what everyone already believed: the condemnation to eternal damnation of homosexuals, in the case of conservatives, to their being "disordered" in the case of Catholics, to welcome them, as in the case of liberal Christians.

each believer in the Bible confirms what they already believe, as well as being evident from cases like this, it has been scientifically proven: see the article " What you want, God wants . That this is a problem, I think it's clear: we can not expect that the supposed "goodness" of the God of the Bible believers make better, because every believer finds confirmation of his ideas in that book.

The only hope we have is that all people understand that religion is not a reliable source of morality, and that every person should strive to do good without relying on other-worldly entities.
